The 1 has to be placed twice in the 1st column, so it's absent in either the 2nd or 3rd column. It must be present in columns 4-9.
So in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd column one of the digits 1, 2 and 3 must be absent. Which one is absent in which column?

In the 5th row the digits 5 and 6 are already placed, so which one is absent? And which digits are absent in the 4th and 6th row?

And how about the 7th, 8th and 9th row? And the 7th, 8th and 9th column?

Before starting the sudoku you can already note for at least 6 rows and 6 columns which digit is absent.
